These two small words, guide everything we do.
We believe that students learn best through experience and develop deep understanding by interacting with phenomena directly. Our dedicated faculty and staff enrich education through the use of unique teaching approaches both in and out of the classroom. Our students regularly engage in experiences that go far beyond instruction and reading.
Experiential learning is learning by doing. It may include a wide assortment of learning strategies and activities, but tends to involve a combination of two or more of the following:
- facing students with real-life situations though small enactments
- engaging with authentic audiences
- moving outside the classroom – field trips
- encouraging emotional engagement
- inductive learning
- engaging in hands-on activities
- democratic engagement
